Anemia is condition of iron deficiency. Iron is an essential mineral for all body cells. Iron is a major component of hemoglobin in the blood, it works to help carry oxygen from the lungs to all body parts.
Those with iron deficiency in the blood, have fewer red blood cells than in those with normal iron levels. According to Healthday, here are five groups which are vulnerable to Anemia.
1. Infants, toddlers, or pregnant women.
2. Those who lose blood in large quantities.
4. Those with less consumption of poultry meat or fish.
5. Those who are taking certain medications to treat ulcers or dirty blood.
