A Child’s Tumor is Heavier than His Weight
A Mexican team of doctors performed a surgical removal of a tumor that is quite unique. They have removed a tumor weighing 15 kilograms from a 2-year-old boy who weighed only 12 kilograms.
Dr. Gustavo Hernandez said, a toddler named Jesus Rodriguez who came from the state of Durango was born with a lump which then grown and covered the right side of his body. The tumor developed from his armpits to his hips.
Hernandez added that the doctors at La Raza Medical Center in Mexico took a 10-hour marathon operation to get rid of the tumor from the child’s body on June 14.
After surgery, the toddler was declared starting to recover and recovering well. Doctors estimate that the surgical removal of the tumor is the first time Mexican physician performed of a tumor weighing heavier than the weight of the patient.
