Blue is the Best Color Against Ultraviolet

Scientists discovered that blue color cotton fabric provides the best protection against ultraviolet rays from the sun. While the yellow cotton fabric provides the worst protection against ultraviolet rays.

Scientists from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia has discovered what color is best to protect the body from ultraviolet light, according to GeniusBeauty.

In the study, researchers conducted an analysis of the nature of protection of the three primary colors, which are red, blue and yellow. This research uses a software program and then performed analysis to determine how a cotton fabric with a particular color can absorb ultraviolet light.

Color of cloth or clothing that is used is one important factor in determining how well the clothing can protect the body from ultraviolet radiation. This is usually determined based on the wavelength that can be absorbed by the color.

If the skin is continually exposed to ultraviolet rays from the sun, then in a period of time it can cause effects on the skin, which one of them is skin burns.

This is because ultraviolet rays can kill cells that function to produce new skin cells. To overcome this condition, blood vessels will work harder so that your skin becomes red.

For that reason, scientists recommend people to use clothing that has ‘sun proof’ color (blue) more frequently, especially if the weather is hot.
