According to livestrong, there is a way to prevent this from happening. Women are advised to choose a bicycle that has saddles that are already designed specifically for women. The saddle itself is specially designed for women in order for them to reduce pressure on the perineum area and create a sense of comfort for women while they are cycling.

Another thing that you should take into account is to make sure that the saddle position is not at the same level or higher than the handlebar of the bicycle. The front saddle should be set a little lower and you should also raise your handlebars. This way, the rider would sit in a more upright position and distribute weight to the back of the perineal area.

Always try to adjust the saddle position and make sure that you find the best position where you feel very comfortable when cycling. Besides the solutions provided above, you can try to stand up every 10 to 15 minutes, to restore blood flow to the groin.

In most cases, numbness and tingling occur after several hours of cycling. By standing up, you can prevent that from happening.

Doctors Steven Schrader, reproductive health experts from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, United States, warned to avoid the use the model of cut out Saddles . That’s because this type of saddle has more risk of making your body weight press against nerves and blood vessels in the  intimate area.
