Detect Health Through A Smile
Stand in front of the mirror and smile wide. Does your smile look healthy? From a smile, you can actually see how is the health condition of the body.
So, open your mouth now and note in detail, ranging from the tongue, teeth, up to the lips. According to realage, there are several conditions that can indicate if you are having health problems. To detect it just do the following four things.
1. Stick out your tongue
Symptoms of iron deficiency, poor thyroid or fungal infections such as thrush can be seen on your tongue. If you have iron deficiency, the tongue may look slightly inflamed. Meanwhile, if the thyroid work weakens, tongue will look thickened. A fungal infection characterized by white patches.
2. Check the inside of the mouth
Take a look at the mucous membranes lining the mouth and inner lips. If there are patches of white or gray (leukoplakia) or red patches (erythroplakia), you may become irritated. If there are injuries such as thrush more than 10 days or disappear and reappear continuously, could be a sign of vitamin deficiency, bacterial infections, or inflammatory bowel disease.
3. Notice the lips
Experiencing tingling in the lips or there is itching and red spots? It may be that you have a cold sore or also known as fever blisters.
4. Notice the gums
Gums that are red, swollen, and inflamed can indicate many things. Maybe you brush your teeth too hard or use a toothbrush with bristles that are too rigid. But, usually, red and inflamed gums are classic signs of gingivitis.
