Drinking Too Much Coffee Triggers Hallucinations
According to researchers, drinking lots of coffee could make your ears deceived.
In one experiment, 92 volunteers were asked to listen to a constant faint sound.
Professor Simon Crowe of La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, asked the volunteers to press a button if they hear a White Christmas song.
As a result, volunteers who consumed caffeine in ‘high levels’ think they hear Bing Crosby sang the White Christmas song. In fact, the song was not played. “We did not include the White Christmas song, but we found a lot of people who are very stressed and consumed a lot of caffeine think they heard the song,” he said, according to the Daily Mail.
According to Crowe, a combination of caffeine and stress could influencing individuals to experience symptoms of mental illness.
The team from the School of Psychological Sciences, found five cups of coffee a day is enough to trigger the disease.
