Eating spinach can help you lose weight!
Spinach is known as one of the vegetables that are rich in iron and is good to be consumed for health. However, a study revealed that spinach not only helps nourish the body but also can help you lose weight.
Research conducted by Lund University in Sweden found that spinach is known to suppress the habit of snacking up to 95 percent. Extracts of green spinach leaves contain membranes called thylakoids. This membrane increases the body’s ability to lose weight up to 43 percent.
These results are based on the observations of researchers to 38 overweight women. The habit of snacking is one of the difficult problems avoided by people who are overweight and often lead to diet failure. Thylakoids will increase the production of satiety hormones in the body and prevent snacking habits, as reported by the Daily Mail (03/09).
“Our analysis shows that consuming thylakoids before breakfast will prevent snacking habit, making people full faster, control their appetite and help you lose weight,” said Professor Charlotte Erlanson-Albertsson, one of the researchers.
