Erotic Movies Can Cause Vision Problems
A warning for eye health seem to be needed at the beginning of an erotic movie. The reason, according to a research, women may experience vision problems after watching hardcore type erotic movies.
How could this be? Watching movies that is so hot, reduces the amount of blood flow to the visual cortex. This is an area of the brain that processes vision.
“When watching erotic movies, sex drive will greatly affect women vision,” said Dr. Gert Holstege, a neuroscientist from the University of Groningen Medical Centre in the Netherlands, according to the NY Daily News.
In a study published in the ‘Journal of Sexual Medicine’, the female respondents were asked to watch three different types of movies, namely documentary, softcore erotic and hardcore erotic movies.
The researchers then used brain scanners to observe the condition of the women’s brains. The result showed that blood flow to the visual cortex area decreased dramatically when women watched hardcore erotic movies.
“The vision tends to blur unconsciously. That’s because when watching erotic movies women will not notice too detailed,” said Dr. Gert Holstege.
