Exercise Can Help You Sleep More Soundly
Increasingly, more and more people are complaining about the experience of trouble sleeping at night. If you are also experiencing the same thing, you may need more exercise. A recent survey says people who exercise, even light exercises, are able to sleep more soundly.
Some types of light exercise includes walking. Then moderate exercise is weight lifting and yoga. While running, swimming and cycling are classified in heavy exercise.
Not only that, reducing the habit of sitting for too long is also able to improve the quality of sleep. This was stated by the National Sleep Foundation, which conducted a survey.
“People who are active tend to sleep more soundly,” said Lisa Meltzer, a psychologist at National Jewish Health in Denver who was not involved in the survey.
Nonetheless, this survey does not prove that exercise can make someone’s sleep more sound. Because the survey only found an association of people who diligently works with the quality of their daily sleep.
The results of this survey made the National Sleep Foundation recommends people to be more active in order to improve the quality of sleep. But Meltzer does not advise people with insomnia to exercise before bedtime, as it can aggravate their condition.
So how about you, can you sleep more soundly if you exercise regularly?
