Exercise May Trigger The Emergence of Heart Disease Risk
Exercise is very recommended to establish fitness and prevent chronic diseases like diabetes, cholesterol and heart disease. Exercise is known to be a natural way to lower blood pressure. But in fact, for some people, this suggestion seems useless. About 1 in 10 people will develop high blood pressure, cholesterol and other risk factors that triggers heart disease after they exercise.
The conclusion was drawn based on a survey of six studies with a total number of respondents reaching 1,697 people.
Analysis by the Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Louisiana State University reported in the PLoS One journal mentions , researchers do not yet know the reason why some people experience adverse effects on the heart after exercise. It is not related to age or fitness of the participants in the early study.
According to experts, the figure of 10 percent is not too surprising. As a parable, they mentioned a new drug with effectiveness of 90 percent can be called very successful.
“With therapeutic intervention, there is always respondents and non-responders,” said Dr. Steven Nissen, chairman of cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.
“There is no intervention that produces benefits in 100 percent of the subjects. Complex biological systems and many other factors can alter the response to intervention,” he told MSNBC.
All studies were observed for several weeks or months. None have measured the actual disease or death. Researchers emphasize that 10 percent of the negative effects of exercise does not mean negating the benefits of exercise.
Thus, there is no reason to stay away from the gym and to exercise. But remember one advise, do not exercise with an empty stomach.
