Fear of wrinkles, the reason people stop smoking
Smoking is often associated with various health problems, such as cancer and heart disease. But apparently most women quit smoking is not for that reason, but due to their fear of having increasingly wrinkled skin.
This was revealed by researchers from Stirling University. While men are also afraid to quit smoking because of decreased sexual desire.
“Eight out of ten people actually want to quit smoking. But the reason is not because of fear of cancer or other diseases,” said Professor Brian Williams, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
The existence of such research could at least be the latest method to conduct anti-smoking campaign in accordance with the concerns of men and women. So that they are more motivated to quit smoking immediately.
The results then was reported in the Health Education Journal.
