Some women experience menstrual cycle every 21 or even 30 days, well they are all still within the normal range. According to Lissa Rankin, a gynecologist and author of “What’s Up Down There? Questions You’d Only Ask Your Gynecologist”, on average, female menstrual cycle runs every 28 days, but some are less or more than that.
“Technically, the normal cycle lasts for 21-35 days,” Rankin said.
However,you need to watch out if the menstrual cycle changes drastically. For example, if your menstrual cycle changes from 21 days, then the next month to 35 days.

1. Diet and exercise
If you exercise excessively or do a strict diet, your body will assume that you are not fit to become pregnant. Thus, estrogen levels decline and hampered the process of ovulation, menstruation can be late and stopped temporarily. So make sure you already exercise and eat regularly.
2. Body weight
Just like diet and excessive exercise, weight which is too low can make the body assumes you’re not ready to become pregnant. Thus, the impact on the reduction in estrogen levels. Likewise if you have excessive body weight, makes the production of estrogen more than usual so that it causes irregular menstrual cycles.
There are some contraceptives which causes manipulation of the menstrual cycle. This makes the menstrual cycle late and not on schedule. Usually this happens at the beginning of usage. But because contraceptives consist of various types, you should consult your doctor if you have a problem with the menstrual cycle after using contraception.
