Health dangers of reading erotic novels for women
Eroticism not only could be found in movies or visual impressions only. Because a novel could also contain erotic elements in it. But who would have thought that this type of reading material can cause health problems, especially mental health in women?
A study quoted by dailymail.co.uk reveals the negative impact of reading erotic novels for women.
The study, published in the Journal of Women’s Health revealed that the depiction of a sexy female character in the novelcan make a woman obsessed with body shape as depicted in the novel. They become difficult to distinguish between the real body shape and ‘creation’ in the novel.
“The effect of reading erotic novels can make women suffer from eating disorders such as when the woman saw the effects of thin magazine models,” said Amy Bonomi Professor of Michigan State University. “Not only that, these types of novel also makes women more likely to have sex with multiple partners,” she added.
“This study aims to make women more wise in digesting literature they read. Meanwhile, for parents, this study also intends to make them have greater control over their reading to children.”
