How to Overcome Coffee Addiction
Are you among those who can not start the day without sipping a cup of coffee? Or, you can not concentrate if you do not drink coffee in the afternoon? You can be addicted to coffee. Yes, many people around the world are addicted to coffee, many coffee addicts do not know how much coffee is too much. Despite having health benefits, coffee can also be harmful for your health.

For those who are already addicted to coffee, try some of the following tips if you want to control your habit of drinking coffee.
“If you have had too much caffeine, you may have to release it slowly,” says Keri Gans, RD, a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association and author of “The Small Change Diet ‘.
This will help reduce the symptoms of withdrawal that is too fast and give you the time of adaptation for developing new habits. “The new habits do not develop overnight,” says Gans.
Gans suggests replacing coffee with caffeine-free beverages or drinks with low levels caffeine like tea or chocolate. Although they still contain caffeine, these drinks can be the best alternative during the transition to stop coffee addiction.
Increase consumption of water as part of your detoxification. A well hydrated body condition will make it easier to stop the “need” to drink coffee, because the concentration and freshness is maintained without the influence of caffeine.
Physical activity is a powerful way to combat fatigue or irritable feelings when in the process of withdrawing from coffee. “Exercise can stimulate endorphins that bring feelings of happiness,” says Gans.
Avoid consumption of junk foods which tend to be high in calories. Not only is it bad for the long-term health, such foods can also fail the intention of ending coffee addiction.
It is better to multiply the intake of high fiber rich carbohydrates such as fruits, vegetables and grains. “Food is a source of energy, so be sure to get sufficient numbers to prevent you making coffee as a way to seek additional energy.”
Get enough sleep
According to the National Sleep Foundation, most Americans are not getting enough quality sleep and tend to stimulate the energy needs with coffee. Therefore try to get used to sleep enough to prevent the ‘need’ to drink coffee. “You need to find energy by sleeping soundly,” said Gans.
If one of the benefits of a cup of coffee is making you feel relaxed, try to find alternatives with activities that can make you relax, yoga for example. “An hour of yoga or even five minutes of quiet sitting can make you relax,” says Bethany Thayer, RD, director of health programs at Henry Ford Health, Detroit.
So if you are addicted to coffee, it is best to start reducing the habit so that you do not have too much intake of caffeine which could harm you health.
