Improve Your Eyesight with Yoga
Have you ever found yourself squinting, rubbing and blinking your eyes, after a long day of work, which involves sitting in front of a computer? If so, you are not alone. Most of us suffer or have suffered from blurred vision, watery eyes, headaches and double vision, and other symptoms of eye strain.
Warm-up: Sit in a chair and simply relax and close your eyes. Next, rub your palms together to generate heat. Then place your palms over your eyes to block out the light. Allow your eyes to absorb the heat from your eyes, this helps relax the eyes and prevents eyestrain. Repeat this ten times, while breathing in and exhaling deeply.
Exercise your peepers
Continue sitting in the chair and take deep breaths. Without moving your head move your eyes clockwise slowly for 10 counts. Then, move them anticlockwise for 10 counts. Next, look up slowly towards the ceiling and then the floor. Repeat this for 10 counts. End with moving your eyes slowly from left to right and then right to left. Do this for 15 counts. These eye exercises exert the eye muscles, tone them and make them stronger.
So, if you practice these yoga eye exercises everyday you can improve your eyesight, prevent eyestrain and in some instances you may even be able to do away with your glasses.
