It is Never Too Late to Live Healthy


Swedish researchers found that healthy habits can be started even in the old age. Healthy behavior provide significant benefits and increase life expectancy, even if done by seniors.

According to the British Medical Journal, if a person aged 75 years old and leads a healthy life, they can increase life expectancy of 5-6 years. This conclusion is based on experiments involving 1,800 people aged 75 years or older.

The scientists observed them for 18 years. Many volunteers died before the trial was completed. However, some are still alive until today. Half of the participants were over the age of 90 years old.

According to Genius Beauty, there are several factors that determine longevity, which are:

– Gender (women live longer),
– Level of education (high),
– Recreation (active),
– Lifestyle (healthy).

Moreover, even if the participants switched to a healthy lifestyle at the age of 75 years old, they will still get the benefits. The study also found that the best results were seen in people who never smoked and those who chose to exercise regularly by swimming and doing gymnastics.
