A study at Cambridge University found that jogging can trigger the growth of hundreds of thousands of new cells in the brain associated with memory. Jogging routine a few times a week will improve memory significantly.

Timothy Bussey, neurologist involved in the study, said that regular jogging will maximize brain function. In general, exercise will improve oxygen supply to the brain.

The study was conducted with an experiment on two groups of rats. The first group of rats had unlimited access to move, with an average travel 15 miles a day. While other groups have limited access to move.

Two groups of rats were then exposed to experimental maze with a distinctive character on each side. When their nose touches the left side, the rats will receive sugar as a gift. If the nose touching the right side, the rats will not get anything.

In a memory test, the rats that had unlimited access to move tend to touch the left side of the maze. The tendency is nearly doubled compared to rats that have limited access.
