Mary Jo Rapini, a psychotherapist in the Houston Methodist Weight Management Center said that a person will overeat when feeling lonely or depressed. Most people affected by depression no more pays attention to appearance.

According to the Times of India, Rapini says, to reduce the sense of loneliness and avoid stress, everyone needs to express themselves.

It can be through talking to someone, writing a journal, drawing a self portrait of the feelings as well as poetry or short stories about the situation they feel.
