Mango is Good for Skin Health

“Mangoes are rich in beta carotene (vitamin A), which is a source of antioxidants. Not only serves for skin rejuvenation, beta-carotene content also has effect in overcoming acne,” said Dr. Apratim Goel, a dermatologist from India, according to the Times of India.

Beta carotene is an important nutrient for the skin. The substance is converted by the body into vitamin A and could be a cure for acne. You do this by applying the beta carotene-rich fruit directly on the skin of acne.

Ensuring adequate intake of vitamin A is key to a bright and healthy skin. That’s because vitamin A deficiency can make the skin look dull, dry, cause open pores, acne and cracked skin on the hands, ankles and knees.

So, by consuming a mango on a regular basis, it can make your skin more beautiful and shine. “Mangoes are very effective to overcome blockage of skin pores. It has a high antioxidant content, with a low carbohydrate level, “said Dr Goel.

Not only its flesh that can be enjoyed. Mango skin can also be used as an exfoliation and rejuvenation, because of its content of AHA (alpha hydroxy acids). “Rub the soft skin of mangoes on the face for several minutes. Because it can make the skin smooth and youthful. Its AHA content can stimulate faster cell change,” said Dr Goel.
