Often feeling anxious is a sign of intelligent brain
Anxiety is often considered a bad thing. Indeed, anxiety can trigger mental problems that lead to stress and depression. Not only that, excessive anxiety can also cause physical problems such as insomnia, itching, and muscle tension.
However, a recent study revealed that not all things about anxiety is a bad thing. In fact, anxiety is actually associated with a sharp mind, as reported by the Women’s Day.
The results obtained after the researchers conducted a survey of 126 students. They compare the level of anxiety experienced by students with their intelligence level. Participants were asked about the level of anxiety, stress, mood, social customs, and some other things. Furthermore, researchers evaluate their intelligence is based on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale.
It emerged that the students who often feel anxious to have higher intelligence. They also have better verbal skills. Researchers believe that this is related to their ability to analyze information and seek solutions in detail.
“People who have verbal and non-verbal intelligence were likely to assess the past and the future in more detail. It is then triggered anxiety and stress,” said the researcher.
Even so, that does not mean the anxiety that comes to be left alone. Excessive anxiety can also cause a lot of problems and trigger stress or depression. While stress and depression can not be solved easily and should be treated clinically. Therefore, we recommend that people limit their anxiety.
