Rare Syndromes Known to Exist

Several types of diseases, like dengue fever, heart disease, and typhoid are frequently heard and even more familiar in our daily life. However, there are also strange diseases, which the cause are still not known for sure in medical science. One of them, if you have never felt the slightest fear. As reported by Health News Daily, here are some rare syndromes known.

A. Morgellon
It is a disease with a condition that is still not understood. Usually those who are exposed to this disease, will feel itchy, as there is a bite or a walk on their skin.

According to the Morgellons Research Foundation, those who are in this condition usually experience fatigue, and memory problems.

2. Alien Hand Syndrome
This strange condition occurs in some people. An article in the Journal Archives of Neurology in 2004 stated that, those who experience this syndrome can not control one of his hands. In other words, they are able to do something outside the memory system.

In the Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular, it was also found that stroke in the right of the parietal lobe (part of the brain associated with sensory systems) can trigger this syndrome.

3. Cotard syndrome
This syndrome is also called cotard delusions . They believe that there are parts of the body missing even believe that their soul has died.

According to a 2004 study in the European Journal of Neurology, the syndrome is more common in those with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It does not rule out those who suffer from migraines, tumors, or trauma can also experience this syndrome.

4. Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
Some people believe that this is a genetic syndrome. Their body has hyper-flexibility. It is the ability to bend around with super elastic body.

One of five thousand people are expected to have this syndrome. In addition to its merits, Their body easily bruis, but the effect of wound healing that happened will be longer. In genetics, this syndrome is caused due to the limited amount of collagen in the connective tissue.

5. Urbach Wiethe
Those who experiecne the Urbach wiethe syndrome never felt the slightest fear, even in dangerous conditions. This is because the brain that runs the fear responses are damaged.
