Want to lower your blood pressure? Simply by drinking a glass of red beet juice, you can normalize blood pressure.
Researchers from the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia, found that a few hours after drinking the juice of red beet, blood pressure returns to normal. The study was published last week in the Nutrition journal.
“It (beet juice) may have a greater effect if consumed in the long term,” says Dr. Leah Coles from WebMD (a leading health website), as reported by the New York Daily News (19/12).
The study involved 15 men and 15 women. They were asked to drink some beverages, including beet juice, apple juice, and a placebo beverage.
The results showed that red beet juice can lower blood pressure in 18 male participants, immediately after three hours of drinking.
