Reduce Bad Cholesterol Levels with Yogurt!

Researchers had found a new interesting fact about yogurt. This finding is a good news for people who like consuming yogurt as it will give benefits for their health. From the research, it was known that two daily doses of probiotics has the ability to reduce levels of bad cholesterol in the body. Probiotic are microorganisms that lives in the gut and has beneficial effects.

In previous studies, it was known that a formulation of the bacteria, known as Lactobacillus reuteri NCIMB 30242, was able to reduce levels of LDL or bad cholesterol in the human body. Previously it was also known that probiotic yogurt protects children from diseases.

“Probiotics also play a role in treating chronic diseases such as heart disease,” said Doctor Mitchell Jones, a researcher from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The study itself was conducted involving 127 adults who had high levels of cholesterol. Some participants were given L. reuteri NCIMB 30242 twice a day, while the rest were given placebo capsules. As a result, participants who took probiotics had LDL levels 11, 6 percent lower than those who took placebo for nine weeks. So, lets eat yogurt!
