The Signs of Stress on Skin

Stress on Skin

Urban people usually do not appreciate the relaxation because we often feel guilty for not being productive. People should know that feeling tension will accelerate the ongoing work throughout your system and produce conditions that can make young people develop symptoms typical of the elderly.

Most of us will deny being stressed, but your skin can’t lie. To check your stress level, check out the signs on your skin.

1. Dry skin
“Chronic stress increases the cortisol hormone levels that can damage the skin’s ability to retain water,” said Peter Elias, MD, a dermatologist from the University of California, United States. As a result, the skin will lose moisture and become dull.

2. Soft wrinkles
Cortisol, the stress hormones, also will increase blood sugar levels which can damage the collagen and elastin, the protein fiber that makes the skin supple and soft. Tension in the facial muscles due to stress can also create permanent wrinkles.

3. Redness
Improve blood circulation that occurs when we are under pressure to widen capillaries. Stress also trigger reddish hue called rosacea. And, because stress weakens the immune system, reddish tinge on the face will probably stay long enough.

4. Acne
Acne is a skin disorder characterized by the growth of small rash due to clogging of skin pores. Acne occurs when hair follicles in the skin becomes blocked. Stress also increases the inflammation that causes clogged hair follicles.

5. Eyestrain
Anxiety will produce a chain reaction; make it hard for eyes to close at night and causing swollen eyes, so the next day your face look bothered by the eyes that looked tired and haggard.

Fish Oil Benefits for Your skin

The benefits of fish oil on skin can be harnessed from fatty acids called EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid). Journal of Lipid Research in 1995 has found startling evidences that EPA works three-fold: inhibit the secretion of sebum, (which is commonly known as skin oil), produces anti-inflammatory substances called prostaglandins, and discourages the production of Arachidonic acid. The research recommends that achieve good skin health, a 1000 mg of fish oil a day with healthy food will do the trick.

Our skin, like all our body organs, is subjected to the wear and tear of daily living.  The disappearance of our once rosy pink complexion we once had when we were infants is inevitable. But the recent strides in medical technology and discoveries in science have helped us in keeping our skin’s health to the optimum, locking in the look of youth and warding away the symptoms of aging. And if there is one product that lives up to the true promise of medical research, nothing can top fish oil in the list.

What do these three things mean and what are the benefits of fish oil on skin?  EPA lessens the production of androgens, the male sexual hormone that signals the body to produce sebum. Less androgens would mean less sebum on the skin. By reducing the amount of sebum on the skin surface, teenagers suffering from acnes will see less pimples and facial lesions. Remember that excessive production of oil clogs the skin pores, producing vile facial eruptions.

Prostaglandins are substances that keep the cell repair at work. Without prostaglandins, the cells in the body find it more difficult to remove waste products. In addition, the absence of prostaglandins would mean less production of new cells in the body. By renewing the cells, the fish oil makes it possible for skin to stay younger-looking and supple. This means that the products delay ageing and  keep wrinkles away.

Arachidonic acids are found in people with inflammatory skins, such as those who are suffering from skin problems like psoriasis and eczema. The fatty acids in fish oil make it possible for arachidonic acid to be produced in large amounts, giving relief to people whose skin and appearance have been severely affected by disease.

Lastly, one of the most important benefits of fish oil on skin is that fish oil improves blood circulation. If blood is allowed to flow without impediments, this would mean that the skin will receive sufficient supply of nutrients. Skin cells will have greater ability to renew, making it possible for the skin to stay young and wrinkle-free.

Removing Acne Scars with Laser Treatment

Acne is a skin disorder which is common among the age group of 18-25. This skin disease is usually associated with a lot of pimples, scars and huge open pores. There are several treatments for acne scars. The most recent latest treatment is the laser treatment for acne scars.

This laser acne treatment is the latest technology advancement in the field of medicine to ensure the complete removal of the acne scars from the face and the back of the human body. This medical procedure is usually done by dermatologists and they are done in laser clinics in hospitals.

The acne scars laser treatments are mainly done with the help of wave lengths that are usually assorted. The laser treatments are also of several intensity levels, which is mainly due to the different levels of scars and acne in the human body.

Laser acne will not only remove the occurrence of the acne bacteria but it also helps in reducing the red skin that is usually caused by acne and its pimples. This procedure which is done in the hospitals takes a bit of procedures to be done before hand.

The dermatologist will have to first determine whether the patient is suitable for this type of acne treatment. After this, he/she determines the type of laser to be used for the laser treatment for acne scars.

The intensity of the laser treatment can also be determined between you and the doctor to ensure that you get the results that you wanted. The tissues that are not needed are completely removed with the help of the carbon dioxide laser.

For most acne patients, a single acne laser treatment is enough, but for others who have more severe acne problems, more than one treatment is required. There is another kind of laser which is known as ablative laser treatment for acne scars. This laser eliminates the outer layers of the skin along with the tissues of the scar which helps a lot in lowering the visibility of the acne scar.

Laser acne treatment cost is expensive but is the most effective way to remove acne scars fast and permanently.

Things You Should Never Do To Your Skin

Our skin, which is the largest organ on the body, takes a lot of abuse and it doesn’t care. It’s the skins job to be the protector of the body and this organ does what it can to keep us as safe as possible. This is something a lot of us take for granted. We go gallivanting in the sun or visit the tanning bed, we pick at our pimples and scabs, and allow bacteria and dirt to stay longer than necessary; we don’t even realize it either. Even if you are using a skin care product, you should still follow these four rules for helping keep your skin at tip top conditions.

1. Wash your face with a cleanser twice daily. The reason behind this is that, throughout the day, your face is polluted with makeup and environmental elements that can put you in danger for a breakout of pimples.  So washing your face in the morning is good, giving you a fresh start to the day, but washing your face at night is essential. Also using the right cleanser is important. Find one that will not react adversely to your skin and does not have a scrub quality to it (scrubs should only be used once in a while).  For the sake of already mentioning it, Dermajuv cleansers would be good for a daily face wash. They contain organic natural ingredients (like Tangerine Oil and Olive Leaf Extract) that do not react adversely to skin and are gentle to our skin.  Now Dermajuv cleanser are not the end all of facial cleansers but they are at the top of their game.

2. Do not pick at your blemishes and scars. This is huge when it comes to treating your skin right. The reason for this is that you are tearing at your already inflamed skin tissue, giving it even more work to do. Pimples are dirt and grime and bacteria that get stuck in your pores causing a pimple to form. If you break it up, yes you are releasing the stuff stuck inside but you are also doing two things that can cause more problems: first you are allowing that dirt and bacteria to be spread to another area creating more pimples, and you are doing what I said above tearing the skin tissue possibly causing scars. So just follow the above step and keep washing your face with the Dermajuv or any other cleansers, the pimple will eventually go away.

3. Do not go to the Tanning Bed. Just please do not do this. Tanning beds are pretty much the equivalent of baking your skin. We are fully allowing the UV rays that we have been trying to stay away from (due to UV rays causing premature aging and skin cancer) about inches away from your face and body. It just makes no sense to me.If you would like to get color on your skin, go for the spray tan route or the self tanning lotion route instead.

Take this as a warning, the more you make the skin’s job as a protector harder to accomplish, the faster your skin starts breaking down. This means wrinkles, lines, saggy skin, and the most immediate affect acne and acne scars. Cleansers do a good job of helping with these, but if you were to have been aware earlier you wouldn’t have needed them. Just remember that following these three very important rules and using the right product, you will make your skin happy. This in turn will make the skin work harder and look better.

Great Quality of Cosmetics for Healthy Skin

Lot of commercial foundations has been sold in the market and sometimes it is difficult to decide which one is the best for our skin type. Despite their ability to “cover up” many foundations contain a raft of chemical ingredients that sometimes worsen skin conditions such as acne and rosacea, irritate sensitive skin and significantly contribute to pore congestion.

There is one solution to these cosmetic issues which is known as professional mineral make up. This innovation is relatively new to the skin care market, mineral make up emerged from the US about 5 years ago. Since then, a number of Australian brands have brought out quality mineral make up ranges which have proven to be highly effective replacements to conventional liquid, powder and crème foundations.

Its purity is a key feature of professional mineral make up. Genuine mineral make up at Beauty Salon contains none of the potentially toxic or occlusive ingredients of conventional foundations such as mineral oils, fragrances, colours, preservatives and petrochemicals. For this reason mineral make up is of enormous benefit to those with skin sensitivities as well as reducing the overall toxic load for all users.

Based primarily on titanium or zinc oxide mineral make up contains less ingredients in general thereby avoiding fillers such as talc, used to “bulk” out the formulations. As an ingredient, talc it is very cheap so offers great profit margin for producers, however it offers no benefit for the skin and can in fact cause problems. The main disadvantages of talc as a cosmetic ingredient is its comedogenic effect which means it will clog skin and block pores. Those particularly affected by this will be people with acne, pimples, rosacea and anyone who has undergone cosmetic treatments. Talc can also have an occlusive effect on the skin, trapping heat and toxins and eventually interrupting the normal function of the skin.

Rather than sinking into or filling pores, mineral make up sits on the surface of the skin allowing the skin to breathe properly. The pigment in mineral make up is generally iron oxides or mica combined with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide which very effectively covers redness, sun damage and blemishes without contributing to congestion or stopping the skin from breathing. The other advantage is that the dense pigment of the minerals provide full coverage to skin conditions without looking unnatural or heavy on the skin. These features mean mineral make up provides ideal coverage for those with the above mentioned skin conditions.

Another benefit of the mineral sitting on top of the skin means that it doesn’t fill up lines and wrinkles thereby making them more noticeable. The minerals overlap like fish scales and don’t fall into fine giving a “soft-focus” look to the skin.

Professional mineral make up is generally a dry powder, either pressed or loose. This can take some getting used to after liquid foundations however, when applied correctly, that is within 5 minutes of using a moisturiser, mineral make up goes onto the skin smoothly and settles down so that any powdery look quickly disappears. Within 5 minutes of application, a professional mineral make up feels weightless and looks soft on the skin.

The key ingredients in mineral make up, Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are also commonly found in chemical-free sunscreens and offer protection from UVA/UVB rays. Use of these ingredients gives mineral make-up broad spectrum sunscreen protection. While the sunscreen protection can be quite high (up to the equivalent of 30 SPF) it is important to note that most mineral make up foundations aren’t therapeutic products which means that they haven’t been specifically tested for sun protection (unless otherwise stated). Useful as day to day protection, alternative sunscreens should be used for extended sun exposure.
