Seaweed Can Kill Acne Bacteria

Several previous studies had even indicated that consuming bread with seaweed jelly are more effective for people who wants to lose weight compared to going to the gym. This is because seaweed can burn fat in the body faster.

This is not the only benefit that you could get from seaweed. A new research had shown another benefit of seaweed. For people who have problems with their face skin, then seaweed might just be the solution. Yes! This slimy green plant are believed to be able to help get rid of acne.

An acne has a typical feature scaly red skin, comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), papules (pinheads), pustules (pimples), nodules (large papules) and, possibly scarring. It presents somewhat differently in people with dark skin. In women body size may also have effects on the occurance of acne.  In a study, it was previosly known that overweight girl teenager tend to have acne.

Seaweed that is included in the thyme function effectively as a natural treatment to overcome the hard spots on the face. This new skin medicine discovery has been launched in the Clinical and Experemintal Dermathology journal. Nearly 64 percent are capable of reducing the growth of acne.

A brown seaweed, contains active compounds called Phycosaccharide ACP. This content has been tested on research done by scientists. In the research, 60 young male participants with mild acne were tested for two months.

Nearly half of all participants gave a report of a significant decline, in some inflammatory and blackheads. The decrease acne lasted only for 8 weeks.

This brown seaweed is also known as “Laminaria digita“. This seaweed is generally found in Britany, France. The scientists believe that the brown seaweed has the ability to kill acne bacteria within one to fifteen minutes, after applied to the skin.

Acne begins to develop when the hair follicles on your skin gets clogged with natural oils produced by skin, or commonly known as sebum. In addition, it is also caused by testoron hormone, thereby increasing the production of sebum in the skin.
