Signs That Your Body Lacks Fiber
Do you lack of fruits, vegetables, and grains? Be careful, lack of fiber may increase the risk of heart disease, cancer, and others.
There are four main signs that need to be considered when you’re short of fibers.
1. Constipation
Constipation can also occur due to lack of exercise and because of drugs you consume. Prevent it by increasing intake of fiber-rich foods like apples, carrots, broccoli, and grains. Do not forget to drink plenty of water and exercise regularly.
2. Body weight
Fiber makes you full, but still comfortable. If you do not experience the feeling, consume 25-35 grams of fiber per day.
3. Fluctuations in blood sugar levels
If you suffer from diabetes mellitus (DM) and difficult to control blood sugar levels, consult your doctor. There is a possibility you lack in fiber. Try adding fresh products and high-fiber foods into your diet.
4. Nausea associated with diet
Calorie consumption, where most of it are obtained from foods high in protein or low carbohydrate not only raise your cholesterol, but also makes you weak, nausea, and fatigue. Therefore, increase fiber and reduce intake of fatty foods.
