Symptoms of Menopause in Men
When it comes to menopause, it is always focused on women’s health issues. This problem is also called ‘midlife crisis’. And this, turns out not only experienced by women, men are also bound to experience it.
If in women it is called menopause, midlife crisis problems in men is referred to as andropause. This problem, can not be avoided.
As reported by the Times of India, Dr G.P. Sharma, Senior Consultant of Urology Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute based in Delhi explained more about andropause and how to overcome the problems of menopause in men.
What is Andropause?
Dr G.P. Sharma said, “Andropause is the male hormone deficiency.” In simple words, andropause may be associated with decreased production of testosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone in middle-aged men.
Just like menopause in women, andropause can also occur earlier. Often a man aged 40 years had already experience this problem.
“About two to five percent of men experience it at age 40, but most occurred after 50.”
What are the symptoms of male menopause, Sharma also explained, the symptoms may begin to lose concentration, energy level weakens, fatigue, change in attitudes, depression, low libido, mood changes, hair loss occurs, reduce bone density by an increase in body fat.
Despite these problems make most men feel scared, but do not worry, andropause can be treated.
Sharma also explained, there is a therapy that can overcome this problem. “Hormone Replacement Therapy is one way of treatment for andropause.”
