Is Itching Contagious?

itching contagiousMaybe most of you have heard how yawning is contagious. But you according to some scientists, itching, could also be contagious because a person who sees another person who scratches their body parts when they are itching will also feel an itching sensation.

“So far there is a possibility of a neural network or the mechanisms behind the contagious itching is similar to the mechanism of yawning which is also contagious. The phenomenon is still being reviewed until now,” said Gil Yosipovitch, one of the researcher who is a dermatologist, according to WebMD. (more…)
