An 18 months Old Toddler Weighs 19 Kilograms

Dan Dan obese chinese babyMost people like to see toddlers who are fat and chubby. These toddlers of course looks very cute and adorable. However, a body weight of a Chinese infant aged 18 months old, Dan Dan, upsets his parents. This boy’s body weight had already reached 19 kilograms at a very young age.

Before this story, we also have heard about the story of the world’s most obese child.

The parents, Cheng Lichao and Feng Xiaochun , are very concerned of Dan Dan’s condition, and do not know the cause of their baby’s excess weight. His over sized body is one of the cause why Dan Dan is not yet able to walk. (more…)

Caesarean Section Causes Obesity

Researchers in Brazil found interesting evidence about the harmful effects of caesarean section on babies in the future. The research published in the ‘American Journal of Clinical Nutrition concluded’ that caesarean section increases the risk of obesity in infants compared to normal birth.

Researchers studied 2,000 births in mothers aged 23 years old. As a result, mothers who had Caesarean section are 15 per cent more at risk of having obese children. And 58 percent of infants of mothers who underwent caesarean section have risk of obesity in the future. (more…)
