Is it neseccary to do Pap Smear

Pap smear is a screening method of a gynecological examination cervix (cervical) using a tool called the speculum and performed by an obstetrician. This test is to detect HPV or carcinoma cells causes Cervical Cancer.

Pap smear or Pap test is the specific tests aimed at early detection of cervical cancer / cervical cancer.

Why is a pap smear become an important test for women who have been sexually active? It is because sexual activity is one of the predisposition to cervical cancer.

A Pap smear is only a screening method for the filter function. Even so, pap smears can detect more than 90 percent of cervical cancer in early stage which is still curable.

The way the disease grow is very slow, takes about 10 to 20 years to be cancer and during that time there is almost no symptoms. (more…)
