American Urogological Association announced that men over the age of 55 years do not need to have a blood test to detect prostate cancer. Before doing the test for prostate cancer, men aged 55-69 years should consult with their doctor about the risks.

Men who are overweight are more likely to get prostate cancer and die from prostate cancer, according to new research.
“It is clear that obesity increases the risk of men dying from prostate cancer. Though we do not know whether obesity causes prostate cancer or causes prostate cancer to become more difficult to treat,” said Dr. Andrew Rundle, professor at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in New York City.
