Depression is Closer to Women – Find It Here

Depression is a serious medical illness that directly attacks on your brain and it becomes dull and life becomes a burden for the patient. But, depression is treatable only if you consult a good psychiatrist and act upon his advice. It is seen that almost eighty percent of the patients, who have got regular treatment found positive results and have managed to throw it away and start leading a life that is full of happiness, contentment, comfort and liveliness.

Medication and psychotherapy are generally used as treatments for the depression affected patients to find the desiring outcomes. For mild cases only medication will be enough however, for those suffering with severe depression the combination psychotherapy will also be required to combine it with the medication.

There is a very common myth about depression that it only attacks women. Though, it is true that the number of women cases of depression is comparatively high than that of men, but both men and women suffer from this mental illness. The symptoms of male depression may slightly differ from that of women but both genders can be depressed. If we check the statistics regarding the depression patients then we can conclude that number of women affected by depression is almost double than men.

The majority of the women patients are those who have either divorced or separated. This can make us clear that you have to live a happy married life to lessen the chances of depression in your life. Women who are leading a happy married life have a very low chance to get into this problem unless a dramatic situation like the loss of her beloved or any other painful incidence she may come across.
