Since thousands of years ago until now, tea is still regarded as a healthy drink. There are certain types of tea from the beginning of the growth, processing until the packaging is intended for health.

What type of tea are good for health? Here are the four of the best tea for your health which you should consume on a regular basis.

Darjeeling tea
This tea, as reported by Oprah, is touted as the world’s finest tea available. The tree is only found in the foothills of the Himalayas, the region of Darjeeling, India.

Benefits: More than 15 to 20 percent of the population are infected with a bacterium called H. pylori. These bacteria trigger a chronic stomach disease, and cancer of the stomach. However, according to a recent study, Darjeeling tea is able to inhibit bacterial growth.

Oolong Tea
The leaves of this type of Chinese tea is processed semi-fermented.  The leaves are allowed to wilt briefly, then crushed to stimulate oxidation. The leaves are then dried them the enzymatic process is complete.

Benefits: According to a study on 1,500 people, drinking half a cup to two cups of Oolong tea every day can reduce the risk of hypertension by 46 percent. Oolong tea is rich in antioxidants, which could control the enzyme and increase blood pressure.

Black tea
Black tea is fully fermented. This is to release characteristic flavor, color and aroma that are more daring. When brewed, the color is close to red.

Benefits: Four antioxidant compounds called theaflavins are found in black tea. Its function is to protect the brain from some dangerous diseases. German researchers have found that these compounds contribute to the treatment of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Yerba Mate Tea
Derived from an endangered tea tree species in South America, Yerba Mate tea is  a herbal tea that taste like grass. To reduce bitterness, usually it is served with warm water instead of boiling water.

Benefit: In 2011, a research was done by including compounds in Yerba Mate tea, on plates containing colon cancer cells. The result showed that cancer cells were destroyed by itself. There is nothing wrong with taking this tea for those who often have digestive problems.

Other type of teas are also known to be very beneficial for the human health. It was also known that green tea help fight bad cholesterol.
