May 02, 2010 By: medicmagic Category: Cancer

It is still not proven yet to cause cancer

It is true that there has been some research on the relationship powder that causes ovarian cancer. For several years now, the focus of scientists is on the use of powder, because these products which are commonly used in infants, especially in the groin and intimate organs.

The bottom line is still a need for much more research, because until now no studies that prove that the powder became one of cancer-causing culprit in the baby.

The parents should not give powder to the baby’s vagina. Because the powder that goes into it will be treated as foreign objects. While the entry of foreign objects into the vagina either intentionally or not can cause inflammation of vulva ( holes outside the vagina), or in the vagina which can then lead to something abnormal.

The baby’s powder itself is not permitted to be used in the area of intimate organs, it should only be used to the extent in the folds of the thigh (groin). The purpose is to prevent irritation caused by friction due to baby movement, mainly overweight infants.

It is harmful if the powder contains phthalate!

Products such as powder for infant use, shampoos, and moisturizers contain chemicals suspected of artificial known as phthalate. Phthalate itself is a chemical commonly added to plastics to soften the dough texture, but some of them are used in beauty products including powder. It is to maintain the luster.

Babies who use all three products were five times higher risk of phthalate exposure at various levels compared with infants who did not use it. Even a study at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, revealed that from all infants who become participants, there are at least found one phthalate metabolites in urine, although the baby was not directly using those third product. But these findings still need to be re-examined by conducting advanced research.

In addition, phthalate also can trigger cancer, presumably because it is carcinogenic and it also could trigger nervous system disorders, liver, and reproductive system disorders. Even in humans who are exposed to phthalate early and in the long term, will experience a delay of puberty.

The EU Commission has stated that the phthalate is included in the hazardous substances that have been classified as toxic.

Non perfume powder was may not safe!

If you feel safe by choosing non-perfume products, you are wrong. Non-perfume products are does not mean to be free from phthalate, the producer of cosmetic product often use the veil of fragrances, which also use other chemicals.

If the parents care about the health of children, they should reduce the usage of these three types of care products. Because newborns actually did not need shampoo, powder, and moisturizer, especially those with skin types normal.

It is important for parents to not put a cosmetic product in children because of the trend. First, you have to recognize the child’s skin type, adjust the use of their individual needs. So, rather than one of perception, it would be better if you consult with a physician about the use of cosmetic products, including baby powder on a daily basis.
