The Proper Way For Children to Wash Their Hands

Washing hands in a proper manner can help prevent the spread of bacteria, germs and diseases. Help your children learn to wash their hands thoroughly and clearly teach them the correct way.

Here is the correct way for children to wash their hands, according to Livestrong.

Time to wash hands
Teach children to wash their hands every time after they go to the bathroom, touch animals, cough or sneeze, play with sand or play dirty. Also teach children to wash hands before eating or before touching any food. Make hand-washing a fun and routine activity.

Remind your child to remove rings or bracelets before washing their hands, so that all parts of the hands can be washed. Teach your child to wet their hands thoroughly with warm water before using soap.

Teach your child to add a few drops of soap and rub hands. Rub  hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. To mark the time, children can sing a song which takes about 20 seconds, such as’ Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

Rinsing and drying
Tell your children to rinse their hands with running water for 10 seconds to remove the soap. After that, dry hands with disposable towels or a clean towel and then use the towel to turn off the faucet.
