Tips to Make the Right Decisions
Each day we will always be faced with decision making, ranging from simple ones to complex ones. A simple decision, for example is like deciding what colors you will wear to work today. While a complex decision can also occur when determining what school you will go to, choosing a spouse, or even buying a house. Oprah website provides instructions for making better decisions.
Identify your goals
David Welch, PhD, professor of political science at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, and author of Decisions, Decisions: The Art of Effective Decision Making explains, “People who can not reflect themselves will end up by making bad decisions because they do not really know what they want as a priority. ” Before wanting a new job, ask yourself: Do I really want a different career? Or do I just want a different boss? Do not make decisions based solely on the wrong problem.
Create a standard
You have to create a list of options that suit with a particular item. For example, if you want to buy a digital camera, make a note of what facilities that you will be able to use from the camera. All cameras are in accordance with the standards will be a good choice for you. Ignore things that are just for fun.
Do not rush
People often make bad decisions when they’re stressed. When faced with a complex decision making, use the conscious brain to collect the information you need, and rest. Take a walk, a half hour of meditation, nap, or even drink beer. The goal is to give the mind which is not aware of a little time to work. The choices you make after doing this activity will usually be a good decision or at least still acceptable.
If possible, reduce choice by creating rules for yourself. Create a schedule like you would go yoga every weekend, will not drink more than two glasses of wine or even like the option that you would not buy toilet paper if there are no discounts.
Once a decision is made, ask yourself how you feel afterwards and experience you can get.
